As you might expect from Apple, the new Mac Pro has a striking look - there's a stainless-steel space frame with an aluminum housing that lifts off for 360-degree access to the system.

Connecting to workstations with a single Thunderbolt 3 cable, up to 6 Pro Display XDRs can be used on the new Mac Pro for a whopping 120 million total pixels. But, now that iTunes is no more in the new Mac operating system, you still need to manage your iPhone and iPad in a post-iTunes world, and Wccftech has spotted how.

I got to touch a Mac Pro. It's called the Pro Display XDR because it comes with Extreme Dynamic Range because Apple says its HDR is better than anyone else's. Which is odd because Apple normally doesn't want you to do anything at all inside their computers.

Developers will build their iPad apps as usual within the Xcode development environment, then just click a "Mac" box and Xcode will automatically build in all the macOS features. The new Mac Pro is not gonna be for everyone.

Finally. After years of waiting, Apple has revealed its new Mac Pro, abandoning the small cylindrical form factor for a beastly, more traditional and highly modular tower. The all-in-one entertainment app for Mac had largely bloated in recent years, so it's removal doesn't come as much of a surprise nor should you mourn long over the loss.

Eight PCI Express expansion slots allow the system to be configured for any number of workflow needs. Design-wise, the Pro Display XDR has tiny, 9mm bezels, and can be bought with a $999 stand that easily attaches and detaches and lets you rotate it into portrait mode. Most people do not need a 6K Retina display with 10-bit color and a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Users on Twitter and Reddit were taken aback by the $US1,000 price tag for a stand to hold an already-$US5,000 monitor (for the full package shown in the picture below, you'd have to fork over at least $US12,000).

Apple made some big announcements during its keynote, and so you may have missed out on some of the smaller revelations, such as the new batch of Apple Watch bands. Apple devices will now use secure Bluetooth beacon technology so that they're detected by other nearby Mac users who are online.
