The White House said Monday that it is now reviewing the past writings of Stephen Moore, who was picked by US President Donald Trump to serve on the Federal Reserve Board.

"I'm a strong successful woman who's worked with Stephen Moore for decades".

Trump's press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, said Monday that the White House was reviewing Moore's writings and statements but didn't elaborate. Moore's commentary covers everything from single mothers to the limited earning power of black men relative to black women - a problem, he's argued, because it made black families weaker.

The remarks by Ernst and Shelby came hours after Trump's top economic adviser said the White House still backs Moore for the job.

On Tuesday, White House adviser Kellyanne Conway reiterated that Trump still backs Moore.

North Korea hands US $2M hospital bill for Otto Warmbier
American student Otto Warmbier , center, is escorted at the Supreme Court in Pyongyang, North Korea, on March 16, 2016. Yun and an emergency medicine doctor, Michael Flueckiger, traveled to Pyongyang on a medical evacuation plane.

Moore, a visiting fellow for Project for Economic Growth at The Heritage Foundation, and the founder of the conservative Club for Growth, is also the author of the book "Trumponomics: Inside the America First Plan to Revive our Economy".

U.S. Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer said the White House should immediately withdraw Moore from consideration for the seat. They include one, which Mr. Moore has called an attempt at humor, that called for women to be barred from officiating or serving beer at N.C.A.A. men's basketball games.

The narrow partisan split in the Senate means Trump can only afford to lose four Republicans without closing off any viable path to confirmation if Moore were to be formally nominated. If he is nominated, McConnell said, "We'll cross that bridge when we come to it".

On Sunday, Moore told ABC This Week that he was "apologetic" over the columns.

Trump's other controversial pick for the board of the independent central bank, Herman Cain, withdrew over criticism of his qualifications for the role and past allegations of sexual harassment and infidelity.

Backbencher Jess Phillips said: "I think people who voted Remain and voted Labour will not vote Labour again". On the surface it doesn't look like Labour's position has changed - but it has a little bit.

Republicans had previously been publicly neutral on Moore, a longtime fixture in conservative Washington circles who was a longtime Wall Street Journal editorial board member.

"When we have an update on that front, we'll let you know", Sanders told reporters.

"I think these stories that have come out recently will be a good test of what the support level is up here", Thune said in the Capitol.

"There are very few cases where the nominees are so blatantly political and blatantly unqualified", said Alan Blinder, an economics professor at Princeton University and a Fed vice chairman under President Bill Clinton.

That question is not easily answered, but the most simplistic way to explain it is that, to Jokic, basketball is just basketball. Leonard's previous post-season high was 43, with San Antonio against the Memphis Grizzlies on April 22, 2017.
