Sri Lanka blocks social media platforms after Sinhalese-Muslim clashes

Sri Lanka has imposed a curfew in the city of Negombo, site of one of the Easter Sunday bombings, to contain religious violence.

Some 257 people were killed in a string of suicide bombings against three churches and three luxury hotels on April 21.

The Rev. Edmond Tilakaratne, spokesman for the archdiocese of Colombo, said Archbishop Malcolm Ranjith made the decision based on reports from security officials.

On Monday evening, the police said the situation was "totally under control".

The coastal town, among the targets on April 21, lost over a 100 people in the blast at its St. Sebastian's church.
