Rodney Hood #5 of the Portland Trail Blazers hits what turned out to be the game winning shot during the fourth overtime of game three of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Denver Nuggets at Moda Center on May 03, 2019 in Portland, Oregon.

If you stayed up to watch the second of two encounters on the National Basketball Association schedule last night, you already know Game 3 in the Blazers-Nuggets series will go down in history - partly due to a multitude of storylines that transpired last night, largely by accident.

On Friday night, the Portland Trail Blazers and Denver Nuggets suffered through four overtime periods before a verdict was reached.

At least Portland wrapped up its first-round series against Oklahoma City quickly, earning some down time after Lillard's long 3-pointer ended the series in five games.

Trail Blazers coach Terry Stotts and his assistants wore bow ties Wednesday for the team's playoff game vs. the Nuggets in Denver.

Will Robert Mueller Testify? Everything We Know

Denver's Nikola Jokic was Game 3′s Ironman, tallying 33 points, 18 rebounds and 14 assists in a whopping 65 minutes.

His Denver Nuggets had tipped off this epic Game 3 against Portland almost five hours before, and an hour had passed since their shared heartache was official.

"First overtime, I think I separated my shoulder more", Kanter said after the game. He talked after Game 1 about using painkillers and injections to stay on the floor.

But Damian Lillard kept Portland within touching distance throughout the entire game, finishing with a game-high 39 points. "I'm proud of my teammates", said Kanter. But if not, the No. 2 seeds are facing a 3-1 hole, which is a tough spot no matter their energy level.

After his side emerged victorious, the Trail Blazers' Maurice Harkless could not believe what he was reading on the stat sheet.

Murray says the Nuggets may have to change their approach in order to regain the initiative this weekend.

"I can't thank @NBA enough for making the right move by terminating their local Turkish PR person who censored me during playoffs on the @NBATurkiye account", Kanter tweeted Thursday night.
