States that have reported cases to the CDC to date this year are Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Texas, Tennessee, and Washington.

Measles is a highly infectious viral illness and is spread from person to person through the air by breathing, sneezing or coughing. The other 10% were vaccinated with either one or two doses. Only 40 or so cases are now needed to make 2019 the worst year for measles since health officials declared the disease eradicated in 2000. The immunization can be given from ages 6-11 months, if there is concern about direct exposure to measles or if travel to places with current measles outbreaks is anticipated.
