The body of a 5-year-old suburban Chicago boy who's been missing for almost a week has been found, authorities say.

Andrew Freund Sr. and JoAnn Cunningham were charged Wednesday after Andrew "AJ" Freund was found dead about seven miles away near Woodstock, according to Crystal Lake Police.

The Illinois parents who reported their 5-year-old son missing last week murdered the boy, wrapped his body in plastic and buried him in a shallow grave, officials said.

The search began last Thursday morning when his father calmly called police and reported him as missing.

Crystal Lake police said on Monday that AJ's mother was being "uncooperative" with investigators. Meanwhile, police are back at the family's house investigating.

United's best players have been well below par in recent weeks and the team is suffering as a result. But selling the World Cup-winner a second time might also be a viable option for the club.

The department also said detectives were asking neighbors to hand over home surveillance video in the hopes that they might provide clues about the boy's location.

Police were at the Freund home Wednesday morning on Dole Avenue in Crystal Lake. According to the report, a DCFS caseworker was unable to determine what caused the bruise, which the boy and his mother both said could have been caused by the family's pet dog, Lucy.

Crystal Lake Police launched a massive search for the child, calling in 15 other police agencies and using canine units, boats, and drones to search for the boy, Crystal Lake Police Chief Jim Black said, the Lake and McHenry County Scanner reports.

That same afternoon, the department released more than 60 pages of police reports written by officers who responded to various calls about the house.

In December officers came to the home after Cunningham called police from a fast-food restaurant to report her phone had been stolen. Since AJ was discovered missing, investigators have scoured the area searching local parks and bodies of water in the area for any sign of the boy.

Around the same time, an evidence technician and other officers went to the family home and were seen removing a large tub, paper bags, a shovel and a small mattress. The FBI and the Crystal Lake Police Department are expected to speak at 2 p.m. ET.

At a Wednesday news conference, Black glanced at the ceiling and spoke straight to A.J.: "We know you are at peace playing in heaven's playground and are happy you no longer have to suffer".

Based on current information and evidence, both JoAnn Cunningham and Andrew Freund are being charged with the death and disappearance of AJ.

According to the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission, Freund had his license suspended from October 13, 2015 until January 11, 2016, due to offenses related to when he represented a woman in a marriage dissolution case who went on to become the mother of his dead child.

The officers contacted the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) about the living condition of the home but were told "a residence without power does not warrant a DCFS investigation". The agency had contact with the family on and off until late past year.
