Only problem? That's not a souvenir.

At one point during the third round of the WGC-Mexico Championship, Dustin Johnson's lead was six. No one got closer than two shots to him all weekend.

Cape Town - Tiger Woods' putter went cold in spectacular fashion when he four-putted during the third round of the WGC-Mexico Championship on Saturday.

The American, in his first competitive appearance south of the border, sent murmurs of disbelief through the packed gallery when he four-putted at the 15th hole at Club de Golf Chapultepec in Mexico City.

While Johnson ran away with his sixth World Golf Championship title, Fox finally hit the wall after being a late callup for the event and making a frantic dash from New Zealand to take his place in the field.

Woods declined to speak to the media afterwards, something he has done only a handful of times over his career.

Johnson, 34, becomes only the fifth player in the last 50 years to reach 20 PGA Tour wins before the age of 35, putting him in the company of only Woods, Phil Mickelson, Johnny Miller and Tom Watson.

McIlroy missed a 10-foot birdie attempt at the first but pitched to tap-in range at the driveable next, where Johnson needed to hole a 20-footer to save par. He also made par-saving putts of 18 feet and 6 feet on the front side in his final round.

Masters champion Patrick Reed finished with three straight birdies for a 64 and was in the group seven shots behind with Patrick Cantlay (65), Sergio Garcia (69) and Cameron Smith (68). "The putts I thought I hit well didn't go in and the putts I hit bad were just atrocious", Woods said.

Johnson had a two-shot lead to start the third round over McIlroy and Matt Kuchar, whose hopes for a Mexican sweep of PGA Tour events fizzled with a 79.

"If he thought that it was reasonable for DJ to take that drop and it wasn't reasonable for me, then so be it", McIlroy said of the official. Thomas shot a 62 - which tied his own course record - with 10 birdies, seven pars and a bogey. Johnson seized command on the second hole, when he hit a driver over the trees on the 367-yard hole, hopped it onto the green to 4 feet and made the putt for eagle.
