This is the first new Black Mirror content since season 4 was released a year ago. "This isn't your mamma's (or teen boys") retro trip. It follows the story of Stefan (Fionn Whitehead), a fledgling video game designer, who wants to create Bandersnatch, a choose-your-own-adventure game based on a novel he was given as a child.
Expertly directed by David Slade (30 Days Of Night, Black Mirror: Metal Head), with some great performances, and an incredible amount of wonderful references - the games company building is straight out of J.G. Ballard, the talking TVs will remind viewers of David Fincher's underrated The Game, and some of the directions the story can go in feature some spoiler-y comparisons - the biggest compliment that you can give this episode is that it can't be passively watched. After all, it's the flawless setting and story for it.
If audiences visit the domain, which is briefly mentioned in the first ever interactive movie, they'll find they're being recruited too - but for the streaming giant instead.
Pep Guardiola reveals Manchester City’s Christmas Day plans
Like you expect, everything that I can say about our players I will say inside the dressing room. They were outstanding in these games.
Generally, each time through is a 90-minute story with five main endings. The title let a kid pick whether Puss, for example, fights against a god or a tree by choosing with a TV remote control or by tapping on a device's screen.
Directed by David Slade (30 Days of Night), this also stars Asim Chaudhry (Click and Collect), Alice Lowe (Prevenge) and Will Poulter (The Revenant). This same character then takes a cluster of colorful pills, yet we don't know if they're his medications or drugs provided by someone else. Those choices are meant to poke fun at the dated choose-your-own-adventure offerings that launched the genre ("We thought we'd have a bit of a gag and slightly mess with you a bit", said Brooker) while also easing the viewer into the ethically complex - and, of course, nihilistic - decisions that are in store.
As you can see, some viewers were better prepared than others when it came to "taking the corner".
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth marry in intimate ceremony
The 28-year-old actor was clad in an off-white satin gown while Liam wore a traditional black suit with a white shirt. The wedding - which took place on Sunday, 23 December 2018 - was said to be a small ceremony.
But as is classic Black Mirror, the story gets more and more complex, until viewers are forced to make disgusting, terrible choices. Yay!
As one of Netflix's most popular and acclaimed series (and before that, coming from BBC originally), the sci-fi anthology series Black Mirror has made a name for itself by highlighting the impacts that technology has on society and culture, and now an upcoming special for the series is tying that into the world of game development. We'll have a full Bandersnatch review for you on Monday. "If it wasn't interactive, you'd just watch and probably be appalled and anxious and frightened for him in that moment". Are you excited to check out Bandersnatch tomorrow?
"Bandersnatch" will release Friday, Dec. 28 at 3 a.m. EST on Netflix. A Twitter user in November noted that the video game Bandersnatch was referenced in Black Mirror's season three episode Playtest, which revolves around a terrifying video game system that blurs the lines between the real and the unreal.
