They've lost faith in Cheika and few want him in charge next year, even with just five Tests before the World Cup begins.

Despite calls to terminate Cheika's contract eight-months early, Rugby Australia have professed that the under-fire coach has the full support of the board.

Australia's leadership group discussed the issue in the lead-up to the Italy Test before bringing it to Cheika on Tuesday, who decided a one-match suspension was appropriate but that it would be dealt with inside team walls.

News broke on Friday morning and Cheika said the two veteran players should have known better.

Australian media reported that three women, one of whom was said to be Ashley-Cooper's sister-in-law, were out of the hotel by 2230 GMT.
