The man suspected of sending explosive devices to Democratic figures across the country will make his first court appearance Monday. A package surfaced on Monday near his home in Katonah, New York.

He faces charges of interstate transportation of an explosive, illegal mailing of explosives, threats against former presidents and certain other persons, threatening interstate communications, and assaulting federal officers.

U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions said that, if convicted of the initial five allegations, Sayoc could face a maximum of 58 years in federal prison.

Clapper said on CNN Friday morning he was not surprised he was targeted and said the incidents were "serious".

Later Friday, Trump told a political rally in Charlotte, North Carolina, that the media is to blame for polarizing the country.

A pipe bomb addressed to Soros had already been intercepted, and by Wednesday, after similar bombs addressed to other senior Democratic officials and CNN were also intercepted, McCarthy pulled down the video.

As the Federal Bureau of Investigation worked around the clock, Americans debated whether the rhetoric of President Trump and some of his supporters had fanned the flames of hate and anti-Semitism.

The video shows Cesar Sayoc - who has been accused of mailing bombs to Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and even actor Robert De Niro - amid a crowd of angry Trump supporters in February 2017.

But Scott Meigs, another DJ at the club, said that Sayoc had been talking about politics to everybody at the club for the last two weeks, preaching the need to elect Republicans during the midterm elections in November.

Since a pipe bomb turned up at CNN's NY office in the Time Warner Center on Wednesday, all mail to the network has been screened offsite, he said. The van that federal agents are investigating in connection with package bombs that were sent to high-profile critics of Trump is transported on a flatbed tow truck. CNN spoke with Sayoc's boss Debra Gurehjian, who managed a shop where he worked as a delivery driver, who said the van was "freaky scary" and had puppets and mannequins with their heads removed in it, as well as various nooses.

While CNN was among the recipients of packages this week, the vast majority of tweets from the account linked to the suspect show screen grabs or videos of television news coverage depict segments from Fox News.

All were sent through the Postal Service and intercepted before reaching their intended targets without exploding.

U.S. justice department officials said the bombs were "not hoax devices" and warned there could be more still undiscovered.

Sayoc was previously known to law enforcement officials and has been arrested almost a dozen times in Florida, including a 2002 arrest for making a bomb threat.
