The Very First CAPTAIN MARVEL Trailer Is Here

I'm going to stop jabbering now because what I know of Captain Marvel wouldn't fill up the back of the world's smallest postage stamp.

Well thankfully, our waiting is over, and Brie Larson-Carol Danvers herself-released the first Captain Marvel trailer on Good Morning America.

We meet our titular hero (AKA Carol Danvers), a former United States airforce pilot, in the mid-'90s after she has already acquired her superhuman powers from an explosion of a Kree device. "So you're not from around here?", Fury asks her.

Also in the film are Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Clark Gregg and Jude Law. "Never occured to me that one might come from above".

It starts with Carol landing on Earth, specifically a Blockbuster Video store, and we are soon taken to various points in her life.

Hurricane Florence Pounds the Carolinas as it Nears Landfall
In total, more than 10 million people face "life-threatening storm surge and hurricane-force winds " from Florence, the NHC said. The National Hurricane Centre said a gauge in Emerald Isle, North Carolina, reported 6.3 feet (1.92 metres) of inundation.

Set in the 1990s, Captain Marvel introduces the most powerful superhero in the MCU.

The movie will mark the penultimate installment of MCU's Phase 3 which concludes with Anthony and Joe Russo's untitled Avengers follow-up to Infinity War next May.

We've waited years for the Captain Marvel trailer, and it didn't disappoint. "I've been such fan of hers and I've looked up to her my whole life so it really added an extra element of surreal to be in the same space as her", Larson said.

While a new addition to the Captain Marvel mythos, it's not hard to see why Marvel Studios would add this element to Carol's origin.

It isn't long before we see Fury himself, without the eyepatch we've all grown used to over the past 10 years.

The film also sees a young Nick Fury - AKA Samuel L. Jackson - way before he's become the non-nonsense, somewhat cynical director of S.H.I.E.L.D. that we know and love.

You saw the first tantalizing hints about her at the end of "Avengers: Infinity War". Fury says in a voiceover, "War is a universal language".

Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) has a mysterious past. We also get a glimpse of Ronan the Accuser and Agent Phil Coulson - making their comeback in this story unfolding in the 90s.

Captain Marvel punches a sweet little old lady but we'll bet she did it for the right reasons. The movie will be released on March 8, 2019 in the US.
