Khalil Mack Trade Will Sack Jon Gruden and the Raiders

The Raiders have agreed to send the Bears DE Khalil Mack, the team's second-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft and a 2020 conditional fifth-round pick.

Gruden was sacked from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2009, the same year defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth signed a massive contract with the Washington Redskins (seven years, $100 million) and the same year the Denver Broncos traded star quarterback Jay Cutler to the Chicago Bears for a bounty of draft picks.

Mack was to make $13.846 million this season under the fifth-year option in his rookie contract previously exercised by the Raiders. He is under contract to be paid almost $14 million this season but wants to be paid like one of the top defensive players in the league, which he is.

Moscow warns Washington against ‘reckless steps in Syria
The Syrian army, backed by Russian and Iranian forces, has taken back the other three de-escalation zones from rebels earlier this year.

A two-time All-Pro, Mack has been voted to the Pro Bowl each of the past three seasons after recording 15.0 sacks in 2015, 11 in 2016 and 10.5 in 2017. He racked up 78 tackles and 10.5 sacks past year, and registered 40.5 sacks in 64 career games with Oakland.

The Raiders also placed defensive lineman Eddie Vanderdoes on the physically unable to perform list as he recovers from a torn ACL in last season's finale. The Bears unloaded their 2019 and 2020 firsts, along with a 2019 sixth and a 2020 third. How about two first-team All-Pro honors? McKenzie insisted otherwise, but the question remains: If the Raiders weren't willing to pay Khalil Mack, one of the best defensive players in all of football, who will they be willing to pay?

The Bears were well-positioned to land Mack due to their salary cap situation surrounding Trubisky's rookie contract and flexibility elsewhere on the roster.

Diogo Dalot's Brilliant Debut For Manchester United
He had that balance and consistency, especially against Brighton in a bad team performance. "We are very, very happy with him. Fred has played in all three matches for United this season, which is in stark contrast to another signing, Diogo Dalot.

In Chicago, Mack will now join a loaded Bears defense that includes Roquan Smith, Akiem Hicks, Leonard Floyd and Danny Trevathan. According to Over the Cap, the Bears had roughly $23.9 million in cap space heading into the weekend, making them one of just seven teams with more than $20 million in space.

The Raiders are really high on their most recent draft class, especially the three pass-rushers they selected: defensive tackles P.J. "It made it clear that he was not going to be one of the guys we were going to be able to count on". They replaced him with Nagy and gave Trubisky - the No. 2 overall draft pick previous year - some new playmaking targets, most notably former Jacksonville Pro Bowl receiver Allen Robinson. I realize that each and every season the majority of pundits ask the question of whether the Packers defense can be a middle of the pack group and make enough plays on a consistent basis for the team to win but, moving forward, the real question should be whether the Packers offensive line is capable of protecting Aaron Rodgers. Trading away the team's best player, pass-rushing star Khalil Mack.
