Queen and Duke of Edinburgh to miss Louis's christening

The monarch, 92, has a busy week ahead, with high-profile celebrations in central London marking the centenary of the RAF on Tuesday, and a visit by US President Donald Trump in Windsor on Friday. After telling the photographers that they were not coming with the royal family to Prince Louis' christening, she continued to give them a stare-down as she walked away.

The Duke of Sussex, 33, forked out a whopping $14,000 on a present for his three-month-old nephew Prince Louis, who was christened at the Chapel Royal in St James's Palace on Monday.

The decision is understood not to have been taken on health grounds, and to have been mutually agreed by the Queen and the Cambridges some time ago.

Prince Louis' christening is taking place today, July 9, at the Chapel Royal at St. James's Palace, with his parents, godparents, and other family members in attendance. The source added, "She loved all the old classics, and Harry had the brilliant idea of starting a little library of first editions for Louis, Charlotte, and George to enjoy as they get older".

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, tweeted Monday that he was "delighted" to be christening the third child of Prince William and Catherine.

Louis will wear the replica of the royal christening robe, first used in 2008.
