Liverpool appear to have put all their eggs in one basket after agreeing a £66.8m deal with Roma for the services of top goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

That fee is far beyond the £34.7m Manchester City paid for fellow Brazilian Ederson Moraes a year ago - the current world record for a goalkeeper.

The Brazilian goalkeeper has cut short his post-World Cup holiday in Sardinia and flown to Liverpool to undergo a medical, while he will also pen terms on a six-year contract with the Merseysiders.

No Premier League club has enjoyed a more successful transfer window so far than Liverpool.

Liverpool would have both the world's most expensive defender and the world's most expensive goalkeeper should they secure Alisson's services with their most recent bid.

As it seems, Jürgen Klopp is throwing the money to strengthen a position that has been one of the team's weak-links.
