Aaron Finch breaks his own record for the highest score ever in T20 worldwide cricket.

Finch and Short put on 223 for the first wicket, which topped Williamson and Guptill's previous highest T20 global partnership for any wicket of 171 (unbroken) against Pakistan in Hamilton in January 2016.

Finch held the previous record of highest individual knock when he made 156 against England at Southampton in 2013.

Finch's overall score came off 76 balls and comprised 16 fours and 10 maximums.

Real Madrid Linked With Chelsea & Belgium World Cup Star
Courtois is a top target for Real Madrid this summer and following Belgium's round of 16 victory against Japan , he again spoke of his plans.

The wickets continued to tumble thereafter, with Andrew Tye claiming a hugely impressive 3-11 from his four overs, and slow-left-arm spinner Ashton Agar pitching in with 2-16 as Zimbabwe crumbled to 129-9, slipping to a second defeat in two. Shane Watson was the first when he scored fifties in three consecutive T20I innings in 2011-2012.

A slew of records tumbled as Australia destroyed Zimbabwe by 100 runs in the T20 tri-series at Harare Sports Club on Tuesday.

Finch's previous record knock stood for almost five years: 156 off 63 against England at Southampton in 2013.

Finch needed just four runs to set a new all-time individual T20 record, but he couldn't eclipse Chris Gayle's 175* for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL in 2013.

Michelle Froome: 'Chris will ride in Tour de France'

2 - Aaron Finch reached his second T20I 150. The previous biggest partnership in T20Is was shared between Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson against Pakistan in 2016 as they accumulated 171 runs.

Finch says he only has himself to blame for not playing at Test level. It's coming on quite nicely.

"When I was a bit younger I had a chance to be really pushing my case for a few years and I probably had 18 to 24 months of really lean red-ball cricket", Finch said after his record-breaking innings.

172 - This is the highest score by any batsman in T20Is. "The wicket played a lot better than we thought (it would)".

Japan leaves spotless locker room, thank-you note
